| Seen along the abdomen are the white hatchmarks. They are most visible in females and newly matured males. In older males the blue and white markings will be obscured by increasing whitish pruinosity. Note that the thorax is mostly dark with just a couple of lighter lateral stripes that fade as the dragonfly ages. The eyes and face are dark. |
