Subject: Moose feeding in a lake, Alces alces Location: North of Dawson, Yukon, Canada Stock Number: 09-36930 Comments: Moose are most active at night, although they may be active at almost any hour of the day or night. The species is fairly solitary, and the most commonly seen group is a pair, mother and calf. The subspecies shown here is Alces alces gigas, the largest.
