Subject: Lesser Prairie Chicken, Tympanuchus pallidicinctus, male vocalizing Location: Mescalero Sands, Chaves County, New Mexico Stock Number: 06-24529 Comment: Male Prairie Chickens make a variety of sounds while dispalying on the lek. These include booming and warbling, and a variety of soft clucks. The photo was taken at sunrise on land managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management in New Mexico.
