Comments: Lake County is a very large county in Minnesota's northeast corner. At the northern boundary is Ontario and at the eastern boundary Lake Superior.

This photograph was taken at an elevation of about 1400 feet; the county's lowest elevation is the Lake Superior shore at 600 feet.

Two mammals species that attract the attention of out-of-state visitors are Moose and Gray Wolf. The former is seen regularly at dawn and dusk along Lake County roadways, while the later is more often heard than seen.
