Comments: In Newfoundland, conifers dominate the landscape, with a sprinkling of deciduous trees. In other areas, trees don't appear at all, and the landscape is one of peaty bogs.

This photograph was taken at the eastern edge of the Avalon Peninsula, about 18 km south of the capital city of St. John's.
