Subject: Oak Twig Pruner, Anelaphus parallelus Location: Neshoba County, Mississippi Stock Number: 06-24074 Comment: Unlike many Longhorn Beetles which feed on dead wood, this species does feeds (as a larva) in the twigs of various hardwoods. While the damage to the tree is not severe, the tips of branches may turn brown and break partly off, causing the tree to look unsightly. Adults may be found flying from February to August, and are attracted to lights. |
