Comments: The pale green color and the flattened abdomen are common to many species in the family Stratiomyidae (Soldier Flies).

Adult Soldier Flies commonly feed at flowers; this one is feeding on Yarrow.

Dipterologists make the distinction that Soldier Flies are often hairy, but never bristly.
