Comments: The Pyramid of the Moon was originally covered in a whitewash and painted, but none of this original decoration remains. Elsewhere at the Teotihucán site some murals do remain however, including one portraying a jaguar.

The city of Teotihucán was abandoned by the society that constructed it, but several hundred years later the Aztecs regularly visited the site and revered it as one of spiritual importance.
